STEVE GRIPP
Steve Gripp is a versatile guitarist and vocalist whose passion for music began at an early age. Growing up in Minneapolis, he spent countless hours immersed in records and radio, even sneaking into his sister’s collection when she wasn’t around. By 12, he picked up the guitar, and by 16, he was performing in the local music scene. After high school, he attended McNally Smith College of Music, studying jazz, theory, and guitar performance under top instructors. His skill and versatility quickly earned him a reputation as a top-tier musician.
Steve has performed with Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame singer Big John Dickerson, Kathleen Johnson (Prince), Kirk Johnson (Prince & The New Power Generation/Candy Dulfer), and tribute shows honoring Teena Marie, Etta James, and Maurice White of Earth, Wind & Fire. Other collaborations include Dave Toliver (Men At Large), Keith Brown (Natural Selection), Gwen Mathews (Stevie Wonder), and gospel artists Robert Robinson, Sam Reeves, and Jovonta Patton. A dedicated guitar instructor since 17, he also served as musical director and worship leader at Peace Lutheran Church before relocating to Arizona in 2021. Now based in Phoenix, he performs regularly across Phoenix and Tucson, bringing his dynamic musicianship to audiences throughout the Southwest.
